Emergency Worker Volunteer Program

Department of Emergency Management

The Skagit County Emergency Worker Program is provided for by State Law RCW 38.52 - Emergency Management and administered by local jurisdictions in Washington State. Our Emergency Workers provide valuable services to our community through their training, knowledge, skills and dedication. They are often placed in situations that require good judgement and high levels of responsibility. Our Emergency Workers are crucial during emergencies or disasters and will be provided with orientation, training and other materials as required for specific volunteer needs.

Auxiliary Communications Service

Help provide reliable emergency communications support during incidents and times when normal systems may be disrupted.

Community Emergency Response Team

Learn disaster response skills to protect yourself, family, and neighbors.

DEM Volunteer Unit

Support Emergency Management operations with logistics, coordination, and other Emergency Operations response functions.

Skagit County Medical Reserve Corps

Support medical and public health preparedness, response, and community resilience.

Support Officers - Community Crisis Care

Provide compassionate support to individuals and families during emergencies and times of crisis.

Skagit County Sheriff - Search & Rescue

Support emergency response operations by helping locate, assist, and safely recover people who are lost, missing, or in distress.
